3 Hurt When Fire Truck, Tractor Trailer Collide In Linden

A firefighter had to be freed from a fire truck after it was involved in a collision in Linden Tuesday morning, police said.

The engine was exiting the New Jersey Turnpike at the Wood Avenue emergency road when it was hit by a tractor trailer traveling south on the Turnpike, police said.

Two other firefighters were also. All the three were taken to University Hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening, police said.

The driver of the tractor trailer was unhurt.

The investigation is being handled by the New Jersey State Police.
